The Z400 series accommodates sample vessels from 0.2ml to 500ml in swing-out and angle rotors. High and low speed capabilities, along with multiple rotor options, make these centrifuges useful for a wide range of applications from molecular and cellular biology to microplate technology and blood separations. Both models feature maintenance-free induction drives that provide exceptionally quiet and smooth operation. Operating parameters are set with convenient control knobs while their values are shown on large digital displays. During a run, the knobs are inactivated unless the preset key is pressed. All set parameters remain in memory after a run allowing repetitive runs using the same conditions without reprogramming. Safety features incorporated into the Z400 series include an electronic lid lock and an imbalance sensor. In addition, a rotor recognition program identifies the rotor at the beginning of each run and automatically limits it to its maximum rated speed. Both centrifuges feature corrosion-resistant, stainless steel rotor chambers and enameled housings that are easy to clean and maintain.

Z400K
The Z400K features a CFC-free refrigeration system to keep temperature-sensitive samples cool. This powerful system can maintain all of the Z400K’s rotors at or below 4°C, even at speeds of up to 13,500rpm. Operating temperature can be set from -10°C to 40°C in 1° increments. During a run, the actual temperature is displayed. The set temperature can be viewed by pressing the preset button. The Z400K’s g-force conversion software allows for setting and display of speed in rpm or RCF based on rotor speed and centrifugal radius. Acceleration and deceleration rates can be set at fast or slow to meet sample requirements.

Z400
The Z400 is cooled by a continuous flow of ambient air through the rotor chamber and housing. Airflow patterns are designed to prevent sample temperature from rising significantly above ambient, even during extended runs. Desired speed is set in rpm using the appropriate knob on the control panel. During a run, the actual speed is displayed in rpm. Set parameters can be displayed by pressing the preset button. The Z400’s powerful motor quickly accelerates rotors to their set speed. Automatic braking brings the rotor to a soft stop at the end of a run. Operation of the Z400 may be timed from one to 60 minutes, or continuous.
