Interchangeable Platforms: VorTemp 56—Two shaking platforms are available with the VorTemp 56–one for microplates and one for microcentrifuge tubes. Switching between platforms is quick and easy. The microplate platform will accommodate four standard microplates or two deep-well plates, while the microtube platform will hold fifty-six 1.5/2.0ml tubes. Smaller tubes can be accommodated with adapters. The microtube platform is removable to function as a transfer rack/workstation.

Variable Shaking Speed: The speed of the shaking platform can be adjusted from 100 to 1500rpm (100 to 900rpm in the VorTemp 1550) in 10rpm increments. Three rates of acceleration provide protection for delicate samples.

Broad Temperature Range: Temperature in the VorTemp can be set from 5°C above ambient to 100°C in 1°C increments. The environmental operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C, allowing for cold room use. Mechanical convection heats the chamber to provide temperature uniformity and stability. The heater can be turned off for use as an ambient shaker.

Intelligent, Digital Control: All functions of the VorTemp are controlled by a microprocessor. Self-diagnostic software constantly monitors the unit for proper temperature and shaking speed. All parameters, including speed, temperature and timed operation, are set and displayed digitally. Heating and shaking are controlled by feedback loops, maintaining precise chosen temperature and speed, independent of load and voltage fluctuations.

Sturdy Construction: The VorTemp is constructed from epoxy coated steel. This gives the unit the stability required for high speed shaking. The chamber is insulated to maintain an accurate, uniform temperature environment and reduce noise levels.
